1.Lanzarote Markets
If you like outdoor shopping, Lanzarote is ideal for you. We love the selection of markets on the Island where you can buy everything from jewellery, clothes, bags, craft and lovely souvenirs.
The most popular markets are:
Teguise Market 9.00am - 3.00pm every Sunday
Playa Blanca Market 9.00am-3.00pm every Wednesday and Saturday
Puerto Del Carmen Market (Old Town) 9.00am-3.00pm every Friday
Teguise Market
Fantastic Sunday morning trip to the market in the magnificient village of Teguise. Everyone will find something interesting there from beautiful crafts, cheap jewellery and great selection of tasty food and drinks. You can stop in of the locals cafe's for nice lunch or refreshing drink. Some of the places have live music which creates lovely and relaxing atmosphere. Just imagine yourself there enjoying sunshine with a glass of wine in your hand listening to the music. We absolutely loved it.
We love to make a day trip out of it where we can go to the lovely Flamingo beach and visit the market' The best way to get there is by bus which leaves from most Lanzarote resorts.

Puerto Del Carmen Market
If you are holidaying in Puerto Del Carmen you can visit the Friday market in the Old Town, we always stay in the New Town so it's lovely to take a walk in the morning from Playa Chica beach along the seafront and have a little look around the market. I find it great for buying gifts for my family - it's fantastic for jewellery, scarves and souvenirs.
Mancha Blanca Market
We heard about this market from few people, it is very popular for locals where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables. We have not visited yet however we are planning a trip there during our holiday in July and will share the experience with you. The market is on every Sunday from 9.00am - 2.00pm.
Happy market exploring!

Lanzarote is well known for their volcanic landscape. Did you know that the Island has over 300 volcanoes with last eruptions in 1824? Most parts of the Island are still covered in volcanic lava.
To explore the magnificient landscapes we would recommend a visit to Timanfaya National Park where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Fire Mountains.

3. Lanzarote location & history
Lanzarote is the fourth largest of the Canary Island group and the oldest in the Canaries. It is located approximately 120km off the West African coast, now you know why the weather is so amazing there all year round. The name of the Island came from Lancelotto Malocello (Genoese navigator) who discovered the Island in 1312 , back in 1339 the Island was named "island of Lancelotto Malocelloa" and later was shortened to "Lanzarote".
We love the location of Lanzarote as it gives us the opportunity of discovering other Islands.
