Malibu Surf Bar – A True Hidden Gem
After discovering the Malibu Surf Bar I do believe that things happen for a reason. We totally did not expect to find this amazing place , we were actually looking for a different bar that we visited on couple of occasions during our previous holidays but discovered that it has been closed. The bar was situated on the beach so when walking back up the stairs we noticed another place with cosy seats and incredible sea views so decided to stop there for a glass of sangria. We have been welcomed by a very pleasant local guy, after a quick chat we discovered that Richard owned the bar. It was lovely to meet someone so passionate about their business and customers.
We all love great value for money and were nicely surprised when we only paid €4.50 for 1/2 litre jug of sangria and 1 litre is only €9.50 so even better value. Richard invited us to come along to the sunset chillout session on Friday evening, we couldn’t wait to go back and we were not dissapointed. This time we were enjoying different cocktails made by Richard while listening to relaxed chill out music and admired the beautiful sunset.
We also tested some of the home made tapas dishes, our favourite was (Beer battered fish, Beef Stew, Meatballs and Canarian Potatoes) all tapas are freshly made by Richard’s mother – So delicous! Every Sunday is Paella Time! Tapas side dishes are very reasonable starting from as little as €2.50 and not more than €4.00 so dinner for two with a 1/2 litre jug of sangria should not cost more than €30.00 – can you just imagine such a great value! We have been recommending this place to our friends and family and it has become a tradition to visit Richard during every stay in Puerto Del Carmen. We are loving it and looking forward to another visit very soon!
